 questions and speculations from followers about the main characters including Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale), Bane (Tom Hardy), Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine), Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), and John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) among others — keeping numerous fans awake at night was the unveiling of the enigmatic aerial vehicle that Batman and Kyle drive at the very end of the trailer below:

Amateur footage of the vehicle was posted late last year on YouTube and other unofficial Batman sites, leading fans to dub it as “The Batwing,” a realistic depiction of the Batjet in Batman comic lore. However, IGN has since discovered through a revelation of Hotwheels’ toy tie-ins for the movie that the vehicle is simply named “The Bat.”
The Dark Knight Rises will be released on July 20 in the United States.
